چکیده

One of the most dynamical interplanetary phenomena of solar terrestrial physics is definitely the passage of solar wind streams near the Earth environment. In this work, we have identified the two types of high-speed solar wind streams using the spacecraft data during high amplitude days. The behaviour of high-speed solar wind streams during high amplitude anisotropic wave trains is investigated for the period 1981-1994. The two types of high-speed solar wind streams (corotating streams and flare-generated streams) produce significant deviations in cosmic ray intensity during high amplitude anisotropic wave trains. On the onset of both types of streams the cosmic ray intensity reaches its minimum during high amplitude events and then increases statistically. It has been observed that both types of solar wind streams (Corotating and Flare generated) produce significant deviations in cosmic ray intensity during high amplitude anisotropic wave train events. 30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Effect of high-speed solar wind streams on cosmic ray nucleonic intensity during low amplitude days

There are two types of high-speed solar wind streams classified in two categories: coronal hole associated and flare generated streams. These two types of streams are classified in two categories base on magnetic field and solar wind plasma parameters. We studied the dependence of cosmic ray depressions due to high-speed solar wind streams during low amplitude days. Cosmic ray intensity data wa...

Significance of interplanetary plasma and magnetic field features in modulating cosmic rays

Abstract This work deals with the time evolution of the three harmonics of the unusual diurnal variation of cosmic ray intensity during high amplitude anisotropic wave trains. The relation of these harmonics to interplanetary parameters such as Dst-index, Ap-index, solar wind speed and interplanetary magnetic field (Bz) is investigated in order to found the possible origin of these anisotropic ...

Predicting the arrival of high-speed solar wind streams at Earth using the STEREO Heliospheric Imagers

[1] High-speed solar wind streams modify the Earth’s geomagnetic environment, perturbing the ionosphere, modulating the flux of cosmic rays into the Earth atmosphere, and triggering substorms. Such activity can affect modern technological systems. To investigate the potential for predicting the arrival of such streams at Earth, images taken by the Heliospheric Imager (HI) on the STEREO-A spacec...

Evidence for solar wind modulation of lightning

The response of lightning rates over Europe to arrival of high speed solar wind streams at Earth is investigated using a superposed epoch analysis. Fast solar wind stream arrival is determined from modulation of the solar wind Vy component, measured by the Advanced Composition Explorer spacecraft. Lightning rate changes around these event times are determined from the very low frequency arrival...
